A lot of issue has been taking place these days about folks going for and against ethanol as a fuel for automobiles. While environmentalists think that it is not a good concept to transform food into fuel, there are other techniques that can easily create ethanol into a fuel that isn't edible yet can make a lot of promise. If you're a car enthusiast who is into horsepower then the Ferrari FF can easily give you an additional 225 horsepower with the use of E85 Ethanol.
It is good news to hear an environmentally friendly approach especially since all Ferrari's are very expensive vehicles. For two thousand and five hundred dollars, you can change the FF engine to run on an E85 ethanol fuel. The change can amp up an additional two hundred twenty five horsepower on already built-in six hundred fifty horsepower.
The conversion provides you a total of 875 horsepower more or less and while there hasn't been a speed test for the car, it's assumed that the FF will definitely run at zero to as much as 63 miles per hour in under 3 seconds. What's even better is that the E85 fuel that runs the Ferrari FF can easily lower emissions by as much as 80%.
However if that's such the case then it would significantly bring down the gram-per-kilometer emission down from 360 to less than 100 gram per km. This is way better than the latest Toyota Prius and today's effective turbodiesel. Unless the car is tested the concept will still be unbelievable.
Compared to other car makers, which have chosen other alternative fuel, Ferrari is straying away from the primary fuel idea. Ferrari was able to efficiently to limit emissions on several of their car designs with tweaks made on engine controls unlike many fast cars from other car makers. Let's wait and see if this new Ferrari FF really does what they say.
