With its full diesel fix workshop and the latest in diesel pump and diesel injector apparatus, TT Auto is delighted to remove and fit your diesel pump. Fitting a diesel pump is a complex task and extraordinary care should invariably be taken when handling diesel pumps or diesel injectors - if you're not mechanically minded, it is best you don't try this at home. There are a number of steps you must take when removing a diesel pump:
1. Firstly you want to get rid of the engine inlet manifold.
2. Secondly the diesel fuel pump to the diesel injector pipes should be removed.
3. Next you need to get rid of the diesel fuel pump inlet supply pipe and the diesel fuel pump return pipe.
4. All electrical connections should be removed from the diesel fuel pump, taking extra care not to break any of the plugs or wires.
5. The fuel pump support bracket at the back of the diesel pump can be removed simply - this is connected to the diesel engine block.
6. Take away the alternator drive belt and check for any cracks and damage. If there are cracks it might be an excellent idea to replace the alternator drive belt.
7. The crane should be meticulously removed from the gearbox. You'll find it located near the timing inspection cover and the crankshaft timing sensor.
8. Turn the engine by putting a socket on the crankshaft bolt until the pin slides into the locating hole.
9. You should now be in a position to put a second timing pin into the fuel pump timing locating hole.
10. After that you should remove the Torx screws which connect the diesel pump to the engine.
11. Subsequently, a timing tool needs to be placed into the timing inspection cover hole, and two pins inserted, to support the timing chain gear and hold it into place.
12. Ultimately remove the four bolts from the fuel pump drive gear.
Once you've finished these steps, the diesel pump should come off, permitting you to fit your diesel pump replacement or have it tested and fixed as required. TT Automotive is always available to reply to any diesel related enquires or service.
